Mario also gets another separate variation, which is Metal Mario's variation, Gold Mario. In the Nintendo Switch port, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Mario's role is unchanged. Metal Mario and Baby Mario return in the game, as well as Mario's Tanooki form, Tanooki Mario. His signature karts are the B Dasher, and most likely the P-Wing. His main rivals are Princess Peach and Bowser, whom he and Luigi will compete as his competitors and serves as a rival to both Luigi and Wario, along with Daisy. In Mario Kart 8, Mario gets another circuit in the Flower Cup. However, if the latter has yet to be unlocked yet, Princess Peach will replace him until Metal Mario has been unlocked (which is by winning the 150cc Special Cup). During Grand Prix races and Battle Mode, his rivals will be Bowser and Metal Mario (Mario's metallic rival who makes his debut in the series here). His signature kart is the returning B Dasher. In Mario Kart 7, Mario's personal course is Mario Circuit. His personal course is Mario Circuit and his signature vehicle is the Wild Wing. Mario can use any of the Medium karts and bikes. While his signature color remains red, his secondary color is blue. In Mario Kart Wii, Mario is a Medium-sized racer. In Mario Kart DS, Mario's karts are the iconic B Dasher, Standard MR and the Shooting Star. Mario's younger self debuts in the series in this game. In Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, his main team partner is Luigi, his personal kart is the Red Fire, and his personal course is Mario Circuit. In Mario Kart: Super Circuit, his personal course is Mario Circuit. In Mario Kart 64, Mario's personal course is Mario Raceway. His AI item is the Starman, which grants him invincibility for a brief period of time. He is in the Balanced Class with Luigi, with fair acceleration, top speed, weight, and control.
